have you been to the better place? I think, if you feel better now, you are in the better place.
I use the broken pieces, that you gave me in a heaping armful and I string together what I can to keep me warm
I know it was not a gift the parts of you you didn’t like I held on to them for you and found them good but never told you you couldn’t hear me when I tried

Wouldn't it be easier to just track the individual fingers or muscle movements of the arm directly or something which could free the hand and not require it to lay down on the desk?

2021.09.20 00:17 daggerdude42 Tbh I can't find any good things about this place
I've lived here my whole life, I'm a junior in high school. Everywhere I look I see problems. The people are abrasive, and unforgiving. Taxes are stupid high, laws are absolutely rediculous and nonsensical in many ways especially gun laws which are just absurd in that not only do they not keep you safe but they literally just don't make sense. Cuomo really did a number here, everything here is so sexist in favor of women and just general racism. I can't stand it. NYC is just the precursor of the rest of the state. The mentality of "let's fight the 1% but 1% are immune". The political climate is such a mess and extreme, things are so incredibly expensive now with minimum wage going up. It just makes it too hard to buy locally and property is too expensive to own. I seriously can't find a single good thing about this place.

2021.09.20 00:17 aquarius3737 Counter to "X,XXX DRSed shares are FUD, Bystander Effect"
This is my counter to the following post. I wanted more people to see this because I think u/soconnoriv was right about these posts negatively affecting others, but the math below is proof that people shouldn't feel that way. I kinda figured this out as I was writing it on my phone, so sorry if it feels clunky.
Well you have causality and intent mixed up I believe. I don't think people being excited that they're exercising their shareholder rights are inherently and intentionally depriving smaller holders of that privilege.
HOWEVER, it does make sense that people could feel that way. And you're absolutely correct that this is the bystander effect in action.
NOW, You could try to weigh the net change of initiative by comparison of the bystander effect vs. the bandwagon effect. By definition, these are two opposite effects arising from the same influence.
I think if considering the relationship between these two, it's necessary to estimate if the number of shares held would influence whether someone would lean toward Bystander or Bandwagon. And I feel there's a strong correlation here. For example:
2021.09.20 00:17 BoukenSilver0611 2017 is my favorite Championship Season (Please Read)
Now this isn’t to say that I think 2017 was the best team in the Saban Era (that would be 2011) nor is it the most exciting team to watch (that would be 2020.) In fact I think we can all agree that it’s probably the worst team to win a championship in the Saban era. However, 2017 is a personal season I won’t forget.
2017 started off bad with the loss to Clemson and it really felt like we had something to prove that season. As a guy living in Georgia I had to deal with constant talk of the dynasty being over. I remember seeing Georgia beat Notre Dame and all of a sudden I would come to work every day hearing trash talk and how Georgia was taking over the SEC.
I remember the heavy anxiety I felt ahead of our opening game against Number 3 Florida State and how relieved I was that we got the win. I also remember seeing Tua play great to the point where I honestly thought he was better than Jalen (in hindsight I kinda regret those thoughts now haha) but I also couldn’t pronounce his name so I just kept calling him “the Hawaiian guy.” And I’ll always remember the nail-biting Texas A&M and Mississippi State games.
The way this season ended will always be engraved in my memory though. I had to work late that Saturday and missed the Iron Bowl and remember how heartbroken I was that we lost to Auburn. It really felt like everything was over. I remember the Sunday after the championship week one of my friends at work (also a Bama fan) was screaming at me as we were announced as the fourth team and jumping for joy that we had a chance, but I also felt that losing to Clemson was inevitable. I went to Alabama to visit a friend that I had made amends with after a year of us not talking, we had an amazing time as I saw us beat Clemson and feeling so good. I felt hyped about the championship game and even more satisfied that the natty game would be the Georgia-Alabama matchup all my work friends were hyping up.
I remember feeling like it was all over when I saw we were down 13-0 at halftime, I snuck out of work early hoping to see some of the second half (don’t worry I’m at a new job now so saying that won’t hurt me, and besides my boss took the day off to actually go to the game so it’s not like she could’ve been mad hahaha) and remember how shocked I was to see that Saban had put Tua in. I remember getting hyped, only for it to die down when Tua got sacked in OT, and I literally thought to myself “Maybe it really is over. Maybe we just don’t have it anymore and the dynasty is over.” I held my mom’s hand and held my breath on 2nd and 26…and y’all know what happened next. I could only softly yell “YES!” since my voice had given out and that winning feeling was unlike any other time. Needless to say, I slept good and had a fun rest of the week.
The 2017 championship team may have had more flaws than most Saban Era teams, but they were perfect when they had to be and when everyone counted them out, they stepped up. I’ll always enjoy watching the flashy highlights of 2021 and the rough punching 2011 defense highlights, but 2017 gave me a special winning feeling and satisfaction that I’ll always remember. And that’s why they’re my favorite. ROLL TIDE!!!🐘🐘🐘🐘

2021.09.20 00:17 rachelsandy1983 Friend (we’re grown adults!) lies all the time
And I know she’s lying to me. And she lies a lot to others. I find this incredibly awkward and also I just don’t trust her anymore. We’re adults; late 30s!! Ever since she had a kid, she lies all the time. She’ll say she’s going to call me and then doesn’t and then lies about why she didn’t and then reschedules with me and then does the exact same thing for that call.
She lies about her relationships, her work, everything … I’m sick of it and have tried to let the relationship fizzle out but she keeps contacting me.
I am just not comfortable calling her out on this and I know she would just get mad and deny it anyway. But I also don’t feel like continuing to participate. Sometimes I think I’m making too big of a deal about it but frankly I think lying is childish and it makes me feel like she feels superior to me / wants to have power over others. It’s just gross.
